Unlike Heliamphora nutans, this hybrid is fairly compact and symmetrical, although this is not evident when the plant is young. When young, the plant forms narrow pitchers that cross over each other. A mature Heliamphora heterodoxa x minor forms straight pitchers that grow close together. With high light levels, an attractive red vein runs from the base to the tip of the plant. The nectar glands for attracting insects are located in the plant’s tip.
